Event of Excellent Success Draws Industry's Attention

Celebrating its 6th edition, "VICB 2012" incorporating "RAHV VIETNAM 2012" and "SECURITY & FIRE VIETNAM 2012" had been successfully scheduled on 19 - 21 June 2012 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

"VICB 2012" had dedicated as a premier trade fair draws industry's attention with distinguished business opportunity, satisfaction and success. The 3-days-show had featured 108 international exhibitors from 12 countries & regions. 80% of the exhibitors were pleased with the excellent result of their participation in term of customer contacts and positive business potential. Majority of them confirm to participate again in the 2013 edition.

National pavilions & group participants from China; Korea and Thailand had participated in the show with the strong presentation of their latest machinery, sophisticated materials, innovative technology & keen services which provide cost effective solution to buyers.

6,188 trade buyers from 27 countries & regions and 5 visitor delegations had visited the fair in order to source their targeted products and acquire the first-hand industrial information. Visitors were from a diverse range of business sectors and were mainly ranked as middle to high-level management.

Vietnam Construction & Building Industries

Vietnam is under rapid development in its infrastructure, urbanization, economic zone, industrial parks, commercial and residential buildings, tourism resorts. It is estimated that Vietnam infrastructure industry value and construction industry value will double from 2010-2014. The total construction industry value will increase to US$14 billion by 2014 from US$7 billion this year; among which, infrastructure industry value will increase to US$6 billion from US$3 billion this year.

The urbanization rate in Vietnam is forecasted to increase to 45.2% from the current 27%. In the period 2010 - 2020, Vietnam will need to develop 364 million sqm of housing space in urban areas, meaning some 36 million square meters per year. The gradual urbanization together with the high-speed economic growth greatly stimulates the demand of the related construction & building; HVACR; and fire & security equipment, material, system, products and technology.

"LIGHTING VIETNAM 2013" newly added topic

"LIGHTING VIETNAM 2013" will be added as new topic and concurrently held with VICB 2013 to cope the tremendous demand of lighting products in Vietnam.

The Vietnam lighting market is basically powered by the country's building and construction industries. Latest figure revealed by the Vietnam General Statistic Office confirmed that the construction sector contributes to 6.4% of the country's GDP in 2010 with a year-on year growth of 9.9%.

The gradual urbanization together with the fast economic growth has greatly stimulated the demand of lighting products and project both indoor and outdoor, in various sectors, to make the Vietnam’s lighting market entering a golden age.

Lighting account for 35% of energy consumption in Vietnam now, it is nearly double in percentage compared with other countries. Therefore, more use of energy efficient products in Vietnam would help the country cope with future electricity shortages.

With the government support, Vietnam has rolled out to the "GREEN" lighting in line with the global trend of energy & cost saving in the fields of street and indoor lighting, transportation sector, interior & exterior decorative, residential, office, retail Areas and industrial parks.

Currently, 70% of the lighting products in Vietnam are imported from foreign countries like USA, Japan, Germany, UK, Italy, Korea, Taiwan, China, while a number of Vietnamese manufacturers produce and supply lighting products only for domestic and a small portion for export. The annual lighting market in Vietnam is estimated at an average (6%) of US$280 million in 2010 and doubled by 2014. Vietnam's lighting industry is considered as a multibillion dollar market potential.
